Teaching Spanish as a foreign language in Ecuador.
There are currently about 80 Spanish schools throughout Ecuador. Some work on a permanent year round basis, while others are open seasonally. Some offer customized personal courses, while others offer small group courses.
The cost of one hour of instruction varies between $4USD and $9USD, depending on location and/or method of instruction.
Course costs usually include access to internet, cultural activities, recreational activities, and salsa lessons.
Preferred morning classes run from 8:30am until 1:00pm. Afternoon classes from 1:30pm until 5:30pm. If you wish to study on the weekends, it can be arranged directly through the institution.
The majority of our instructors are women, aged 22 to 35 years, with an educational background in tourism and a knowledge of the English language.
Currently 80% of teachers working in Spanish schools in Ecuador have been trained by the IE Institute, where they have received a general orientation and education on how to teach progressive language level courses.
